| Bio: | Friends Only Archived journal 1 Poetry journal - closed to viewing My name is Virginia. I wasn't named after the state. Call me Gin. I live in Kentucky. I would like to address that. Yes, I wear shoes (outside). No, I've never kissed my cousin. I live in an eclectic, alternative and somewhat eccentric part of Louisville called The Highlands. I do have somewhat of a southern drawl, but you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn't who lives on or below the Mason Dixon line. (Any southerner who claims not to have one hasn't listened to themselves on an answering machine.) If you want ta see them blue-skinned folk, travel on over to that there Eastern part of the Ken-tuck. I live with my boyfriend of two and a half years, dREW, in our apartment that we try to pull off as an artistic bungalow - a small space that we share with our human science skeleton, Ed, and our two baby rats, Weetzie Rat and Bela (named after Weetzie Bat and Bela Lugosi). We work together, third shift, at UPS (an evil corporation devoid of a soul who claims that the reason they pay us so little is because of the "benefits" and the school tuition they are paying for us). Currently, I'm in an off moment in my life. All I want to do is to find out who I am. I want to be free to explore myself, my ambitions, and live my LIFE. Unfortunately, I'm bound by a crappy job and an unmotivated scholastic attitude. I don't know what I want for my career in the future except for a vague sense in the artistic direction - possibly interior design. I know that I DO want a home that I can decorate to my liking, to travel and live life to the fullest with the love of my life, and then eventually settle down into marriage and a couple of kids. I am known for being the dangerously openminded in a generally closeminded state. I am too crass, too unpredictable, and I speak my mind when the timing is inappropriate. I'm too sensitive, and take everything to heart. Oddly enough, I am a very brutally honest person, without a bit of modesty. Because I am passionate, I can develop a bit of an attitude, and while I preach acceptance, I am one of the least accepting people I know. I despise ignorance, and am not very forgiving of other's flaws. That being said, I only respect the opinions of other people if those people are well-educated in what they are speaking their mind about. I have severe trust issues, and I'm analytical to the point of obsession. I can't get along with a girl for more than a couple of hours, but I can get along with almost any boy, and am considered a bit of a "feminine tomboy". Despite my general lack of patience (and sometimes tact), I am a very happy, self-content, and, although it might not shine through, a very compassionate person. I am a vegetarian strongly opposed to animal abuse, and a (non-nazi) feminist who will always support the equality of women and the downfall of sexism. I was raised to be a strong, independent woman, proud to be myself. I am extremely introspective, very intelligent, highly intuitive, and not in the least bit modest. When I love someone or something, I love with all of my heart, but it takes something extraordinary to make me love you. I pride myself on my unique qualities, and my creative abilities as a poet, and an artist. Despite my lack of trust, I have found love with an amazing boy who is accepting of me (and the generous amount of flaws that comes with me). I am happy to be imperfect. I am happy to be me.
